The University of Minnesota New Music Ensemble (UMN NME) is a student-led ensemble dedicated to providing a space for students to explore the practice and creation of new music. Balancing the diversity of styles and techniques with performers' interests, the NME curates and performs both new and established works by composers across the globe, including our own composition studios at the UMN. Since its inception in Fall 2022, the NME has performed 8 concerts of 44 solo, chamber, and large ensemble works by 36 composers including world and US premieres, with over 50 members. In its first two years, the New Music Ensemble performed seven concerts of solo, chamber, and large ensemble works with over 50 student members.
